Hey Folks, The first Sunday of NFL is a guessing game and no one knows what could happen the first Sunday of any NFL season. Here’s my plan for week one. I’m thinking Rookie QB this week. Yes, don’t laugh, why not be different and do what others might not. I am looking for rookie QB’s who can score with their legs and throw the ball a mile going against poor defenses or what I perceive as a poor defense.
There have been several rookie QBs that have delivered impressive performances in their first NFL starts, putting up high scores and memorable stats.

Cam Newton – threw for 422 yards, setting a record for the most passing yards by a rookie quarterback in their first NFL game. He also threw two touchdown passes and ran for another, finishing with a passer rating of 110.4. Despite his efforts, the Panthers lost the game 28-21.
Justin Herbert -threw for 311 yards and one touchdown, adding a rushing touchdown. He was a surprise starter that day due to an injury to starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor, but he showed great poise, nearly leading the Chargers to an upset over the defending Super Bowl champions. The Chargers lost the game in overtime, 23-20.
Robert Griffin III -Griffin threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns, along with 42 rushing yards. He posted a passer rating of 139.9 and led the Redskins to a 40-32 victory. Griffin’s dual-threat ability and poise under pressure were on full display in his debut.
There are several more rookie QB’s starting I have not mentioned who were great their first time out. But my point is, it could happen again this year Winning the Milly Maker is about not being afraid to be different

I landed on Bo Nix being the guy in Week 1 and will be low-owned by the field. what a great angle, he can get there with his legs, he can spread the ball around, and score big on his own.

Winning the Milly Maker often requires thinking outside the box, and I construct rosters with a target outcome of 214 points.

How I did Boom or Bust; “Monday Morning Quarterbacking”
Hello, all it’s a Monday and time to look back and say to myself, what I should’ve, could’ve, and would’ve done differently, as a DFS player.
I used to spend most of my time looking forward to the next slate, the next season, and so forth. I find it equally important to stop, take a breath, and start looking back at the process that led me to a winning or losing lineup.

Well, this lineup missed miserable, like I stated earlier I was very uncomfortable about this lineup, but if it had of hit, it would have been the solo Milly Maker winner. I will continue to build lineups going for first.
Choosing a rookie in the QB spot to win their first game and score big is a long shot, especially against a defensive coordinator that blitz a lot. Once Bo Nix learns to read defenses and how to quickly go through his first and seconds reads he is going to be special. Bo Nix was 1% owned on Draftkings.
I took a chance with Marvin Harrison Jr. as my Flex pick, expecting him to be more involved in the Arizona Cardinals’ offense. Unfortunately, he wasn’t featured as much as I anticipated. He ended the game with just one reception for four yards. In his NFL debut against the Buffalo Bills, Harrison struggled to make a noticeable impact.
He was targeted three times but managed to catch just one pass for four yards. Despite being a highly anticipated rookie, the game didn’t go as expected. Quarterback Kyler Murray mentioned that the flow of the game and play calling limited Harrison’s chances to make an impact.
I’m confident that Kyler Murray and the coaching staff will focus on getting him more involved in the next game. Harrison has plenty of potential for future match-ups. He was only 5% owned on Draftkings.
The only real highlights of this lineup were the Bears defense (24 points) and Alvin Kamara (22 points). The rest were a mix of under performers and missed opportunities. Despite being low-owned across the board, if this lineup had hit, it could have taken first place.
That’s exactly how I plan to keep building lineups. With over 1 million players on DraftKings, aiming for low ownership and high upside is the only path to winning first place.
Take a look at the winning lineup below – Josh Reynolds was only 0.5% owned, Alec Pierce came in at 0.8%, and Juwan Johnson was also 0.8% owned. The Low ownership and pricing allowed the solo winner to include top-tier players like Josh Allen, Joe Mixon, and De’von Achane, which ultimately secured the solo win in the Milly Maker.
