Here’s My Criteria for Quarterback:

1) Can they put up 325 passing yards

2) Can they throw for 3 TDs (When you add criteria 1 and 2 together, that gets me to 28 DK points)

3) Can they rush for 20 yards if so (All 3 criteria together put me over 30 DK points

I landed on Baker Mayfield being the guy in Week 2 and will be low-owned by the field. what a great angle, he can get there with his legs when he does rum, he can spread the ball around.

Winning often requires thinking outside the box, and I construct rosters with a target outcome of 214 points.

The success of this approach varies—sometimes it proves effective, while other times it doesn’t. But, I am playing for first place. If you’re curious about what I mean by this, check out further details here. “Playing For First’ in NFL.”

Defense: Los Angeles Chargers ($3,400)

The Los Angeles Chargers’ defense had faced significant challenges in 2023, marked by inconsistent performance and struggles in key areas. Here are the highlights:

Overall Performance:

  • The Chargers’ defense has been underwhelming, allowing 25.7 points per game and 368.5 total yards per game. They’ve had particular issues with pass defense, ranking poorly in both yards allowed and third-down conversion percentage.

Rush Defense:

  • While their run defense has been somewhat effective, allowing 111.2 rushing yards per game, it’s not enough to offset their weaknesses in other areas.

Pass Defense:

  • The pass defense has been a major weak spot, allowing 257.3 passing yards per game. Despite having talented players they’ve struggled to contain opposing quarterbacks and prevent big plays.

Key Defensive Metrics:

  • They’ve recorded 29 sacks and 52 tackles for loss, showing some ability to disrupt plays. However, they’ve allowed opponents to convert 46.5% of third downs, contributing to their struggles.

Turnovers:

  • The Chargers have intercepted 9 passes and forced 7 fumbles, recovering 4, but their overall turnover creation has been insufficient to shift the momentum of games.

The Chargers’ defense has been plagued by inconsistency and ineffective pass coverage, leading to high-scoring games and struggles to control opposing offenses. Despite some standout individual performances.

In 2024 the unit has so far showed improvement in Week 1 they had 4 sacks, 1 interception for 14 fantasy points. They are a defense to watch this season

MONDAY RECAP

How I did Boom or Bust; “Monday Morning Quarterbacking”

Hello, all it’s a Monday and time to look back and say to myself, what I should’ve, could’ve, and would’ve done differently, as a DFS player.

I used to spend most of my time looking forward to the next slate, the next season, and so forth. I find it equally important to stop, take a breath, and start looking back at the process that led me to a winning or losing lineup.

———————————————————————————————————–

This lineup was an all-or-nothing play — it was either going to take it all or crash and burn. Unfortunately, the game script for TB vs. DET leaned heavily on defense instead of the offensive fireworks I expected. Baker Mayfield has looked impressive through two games, showing off his mobility and accuracy. However, his connection with Mike Evans fell flat, as Evans only managed 7.20 fantasy points. The skinny stack of Mayfield and Evans didn’t deliver in this lineup.

For my Detroit bring-back, I went with WR Jameson Williams and RB Jahmyr Gibbs. Both had solid fantasy outputs, but neither delivered those “must-have” points. JK Dobbins, though, was a bright spot. He put up 23.1 fantasy points in Week 1 and followed it up with 25.9 points, confirming his status as a reliable bell-cow back for the Ravens. He’s a player to consider rostering weekly.

Christian Kirk was my low-owned, high-upside punt play. While he didn’t pay off this time, it’s clear that he’s not a major part of the Jaguars’ offense right now. However, if he bounces back later in the season, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in a Milly Maker-winning lineup — he’ll always be a low-owned option.

Taysom Hill was unfortunately forced out of the game due to an injury and had to be taken to the hospital. Thankfully, it seems like he avoided any major issues. On a brighter note, the Saints crushed the Cowboys 44-19, and they’re definitely looking like a team to watch this season.

Rhamondre Stevenson seemed like a no-brainer for this lineup, but his production is getting cut into by Antonio Gibson, who’s taking away some touches and receiving yards. That’s something to keep an eye on moving forward.

Lastly, the Chargers’ defense was serviceable against Carolina, putting up 11 fantasy points, but it wasn’t quite enough to make a big Fantasy impact.
