Hereβs My Criteria for Quarterback:
1) Can they put up 325 passing yards
2) Can they throw for 3 TDs (When you add criteria 1 and 2 together, that gets me to 28 DK points)
3) Can they rush for 20 yards if so (All 3 criteria together put me over 30 DK points
I landed on Justin Fields being the guy in Week 1 and will be low-owned by the field. what a great angle, he can get there with his legs as well as passing. He has 2 great receivers to pass too.

Justin Fields QB, Jets
Winning the Milly Maker often requires thinking outside the box, and I construct rosters with a target outcome of 214 points.
The success of this approach variesβsometimes it proves effective, while other times it doesn’t. But, I am playing for first place. If you’re curious about what I mean by this, check out this site for further details.. “Playing For Firstβ in NFL.”
Side Note: I feel very uncomfortable about the lineup below, but that is a good thing, because if I am right I have a great chance to hit for first place.
Afterall, I am going up against in the Milly Maker over 300,000 lineups. My lineup most be different to win.

Here’s One of My Lineups in Week 1
Quarterback: Justin Fields ($5,400)
2024 Season Performance
Justin Fields enters this slate as one of the most intriguing QB plays at his price point. In 2024, Fields posted 1,106 passing yards with 5 touchdowns and 1 interceptions, while adding 289 rushing yards . His dual-threat ability makes him a tournament-winning QB because he can rack up points both through the air and on the ground. At only $5,400, Fields offers ceiling potential similar to higher-priced QBs, creating salary flexibility to stack up other positions.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
If Fields connects on a deep ball or runs in a score (or two), he can easily hit 25+ fantasy points and outscore QBs $2β3K more expensive. That leverage creates massive upside in a GPP.

Running Back: J.K. Dobbins ($5,500)
2024 Season Performance:
2024 Season Performance
Dobbins returned to form with Baltimore, rushing for 720 yards and 6 touchdowns in just 12 games. Known for his red-zone efficiency, he averaged 4.8 yards per carry, proving heβs still a dangerous weapon.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
At $5,500, Dobbins is priced for upside. If Baltimore leans on their run game, he could punch in two goal-line scores. That type of efficiency at his price is exactly how Milly Maker lineups separate.

Running Back: Chuba Hubbard ($6,000)
2024 Season Performance:
2024 Season Performance
Hubbard carried the load for Carolina late last season, totaling 866 rushing yards with 5 touchdowns and adding 33 receptions for 214 yards. His usage in both the ground and passing game makes him a volume-driven play at a modest price.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
At $6K, Hubbard provides RB1 usage without the elite salary tag. If Carolina controls game script, Hubbard could see 20+ touches, giving him a path to 100+ yards and multiple scores.
Wide Receivers: Garrett Wilson ($6,300), Jerry Jeudy ($5,400), Deebo Samuel Sr. ($5,000)
Wide Receiver: Garrett Wilson ($6,300)
2024 Season Performance:
2024 Season Performance
Wilson delivered another solid season despite shaky QB play, recording 83 receptions for 1,045 yards and 6 touchdowns. His elite target share (top 10 in the league) ensures consistent volume every week.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
Wilson is a high-floor WR with tournament-breaking ceiling. If he connects for a long touchdown or has a 10+ catch game, he can post 30 fantasy points, providing massive leverage on the field.

Wide Receiver: Jerry Jeudy ($5,400)
2024 Season Performance:
Jeudy finished 2024 with 59 receptions, 812 yards, and 5 touchdowns, proving to be a reliable weapon when healthy. He thrives on creating separation and is Denverβs primary big-play threat.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
Priced in the mid-tier, Jeudy has sneaky upside. A 100-yard game with a touchdown would smash his salary, making him a perfect pivot off more popular WR chalk.
Wide Receiver: Deebo Samuel Sr. ($5,000)
2024 Season Performance:
Samuel posted 64 catches for 885 yards and 4 touchdowns while also adding 265 rushing yards and 2 rushing scores. His hybrid role makes him one of the most versatile fantasy players in the NFL.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
Deebo can hit in multiple ways β receiving, rushing, and even gadget plays. At just $5K, heβs a pure ceiling play who can break the slate with one big run-after-catch or rushing touchdown.

TE: Brock Bowers ($6,000)
2024 Season Performance
The rookie phenom made waves immediately, catching 62 passes for 718 yards and 6 touchdowns. His athleticism and mismatch ability against linebackers and safeties makes him a red-zone favorite.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
At $6K, Bowers offers elite upside for the TE position. A 6-80-1 type of line is well within his range, and he provides leverage off more popular TEs on the slate.

FLEX: Kenneth Walker III ($5,900)
2024 Season Performance
Walker ran for 1,002 yards and 8 touchdowns while splitting time with Zach Charbonnet. His explosive playmaking β including five 40+ yard runs β shows how dangerous he is in space.
Why He Can Win You the Milly
Walkerβs big-play ability makes him a perfect FLEX candidate. One 60-yard touchdown run could be enough to vault him over the field at sub-$6K.

Defense/Special Teams: Denver Broncos ($3,800)
2024 Overall Performance
The Broncos finished 8th in sacks and 11th in turnovers forced last season. Rookie corner Pat Surtain II emerged as a defensive playmaker with two pick-sixes.
Why They Can Win You the Milly
DSTs can swing tournaments. At $3,800, Denver has sack and turnover upside against shaky offensive lines. A defensive touchdown or multiple turnovers would pay off massively.
β
Why This Lineup Can Win the Milly
This build combines dual-threat QB upside (Fields), mid-range RB value with touchdown equity (Hubbard, Dobbins, Walker), and playmaking WRs (Wilson, Jeudy, Samuel) who can break the slate. Adding sensational TE Bowers gives exposure to elite upside at a tough position, and the Broncos defense provides turnover and touchdown potential.
Itβs a balanced, ceiling-driven roster where every player has the ability to score 20+ points, creating the perfect recipe for a tournament-winning lineup.

MONDAY RECAP
How I did Boom or Bust; βMonday Morning Quarterbackingβ
Hello, all itβs a Monday and time to look back and say to myself, what I shouldβve, couldβve, and wouldβve done differently, as a DFS player.
I used to spend most of my time looking forward to the next slate, the next season, and so forth. I find it equally important to stop, take a breath, and start looking back at the process that led me to a winning or losing lineup.

Here are my thoughts on this lineup.
Quarterback:
Justin Fields (29.5) did his job and then some. With rushing QBs, I Thought about going βnaked,β but in Milly-sized fields you usually want at least one stack, if you don’t use Fields, it’s a smart play. I went (Fields β Garret Wilson) Their pairing turned out golden. But, I had no Bring Back on this lineup Next time: I will continue to prioritize my top QB in a game with shootout potential and pair him with 1β2 primary pass-catchers. I also will be using more bring backs, Even though the winning line up had Fields naked. Which is always an option with him.
Running Backs:
Here is my thoughts on the running backs I chose. J.K. Dobbins (14.8) and Chuba Hubbard (17.9) were fine but lacked 30-point ceilings. For GPPs, aim for at least one RB with elite TD equity + pass-game usage (routes, targets inside the 10). Correlate when possible (RB + DST in a projected positive script) or use a bring-back WR if I expect a back-and-forth game. I will be using this strategy going forward.
Wide Receivers:
Garrett Wilson (22.5) and Deebo Samuel (22.6) hit; Jerry Jeudy (11.6) was meh. In tournaments, I need to concentrate on WRs around my game stacks and add one leverage WR to pivot off chalk (or off a popular teammate). I didn’t use target share/air yards to find ceiling, and I have to not be afraid to punt a WR if it lets me jam a premium stack.
Tight End:
Brock Bowers (18.3) delivered. Tight ends are highest-leverage when itβs part of a stack (primary or bring-back) and has red-zone usage. I need to avoid mid-price βislandβ TEs with no correlation; either pay for an alpha tied to my QB or punt the spot to maximize studs elsewhere.
Flex:
Kenneth Walker III (5.4) sank the lineup. I have to treat Flex as my ceiling slot on DKβ start preferring WRs or pass-catching RBs with explosion, or a cheap punt (e.g., sub-$3K WR) that unlocks elite pieces. I need to build in late-swap outs so if my early pieces miss, I can pivot the Flex to a lower-owned, higher-variance play.
Defense:
Broncos DST (14) was sharp. DST is volatile; So I kept spend modest and lean into pressure mismatches, turnover-prone QBs, bad O-lines, weather, or low totals. When it fits the script, correlate with my workhorse RB; otherwise I use DST as a salary/ownership lever rather than a βmust get rightβ centerpiece.
